← CHAPTER OVERVIEW
Your Inner Child & You
Dear Creatrix,
How was the first week of experiencing this chapter of the CREATRIX School and opening up to the idea of creating the family of your dreams?
What came up that surprised you? What was new, what gave you new ideas? And how has your perspective changed, on some of the things you might have taken for granted until now?
I do sincerely hope that you enjoyed thinking about new possibilities for your family life and that you are already wondering about how to put them into action.
What would you like to have more of?
What would your ideal family situation look, feel and be like? And were you able to make space for what makes you feel sad or angry?
Feeling and giving space to all feelings and emotions that arise, and allowing them to pass through is so important – as when we don’t, they will not only haunt us until we allow ourselves to really feel them, but they can even make us sick.
If you need some support, when giving yourself space to feel your feelings, related to your family, or in general, and to release stuck emotions, I recommend trying this practice from the RELATIONSHIPS chapter:
Releasing stuck emotions
Stuck emotions can limit us in our lives in different ways: They keep us from seeing new situations as new, they keep our nervous system activated and cause stress, and they generally keep us from moving through the world with joy and ease.
And as we are now warmed up and more familiar with the topic, we can go a little (or a lot? you decide!) deeper, and start working with the Inner Child Archetypes, today.
The Inner Child Archetypes represent the different roles we take on as a child – and they might stay with us until we resolve them, and set them free, so we can open up to new options for ourselves.
There are eight of them in the Oracle Cards Deck I created, and you might be able to think of even more – yet, these are a good basis to start to work with.
They are:
▶︎ the Magical/Innocent Child
▶︎ the Curious Child
▶︎ the Dependent Child
▶︎ the Nature Child
▶︎ the Divine Child
▶︎ the Wounded Child
▶︎ the Orphan Child
Below you can find all the pictures and descriptions of the archetypes.
To start, I would like for you to reflect on which of these roles, according to the descriptions, you inhabited as a child, and how they might still be present in your life, today.
Here are a few questions:
Who were you as a child? What were your responsibilities?
Did you have to be there for your parents or siblings because your parents were not available or responsible?
Or did you feel like you couldn’t express and experience yourself because your parents were overprotective or anxious? Or both?
