← CHAPTER OVERVIEW
Have you ever made a simmer pot?
Dear Creatrix,
When I lived in the countryside with my two dogs, they started having fleas, something that had never happened before – and I wanted to do something about it – without using chemicals that are harmful to me and the dogs.
So I found a recipe for a spray made with boiling rosemary and lemon and letting it sit over night, and then adding some other floral essences like lavender or geranium – and the whole house smelled incredible!
Lucky for all of us, we don’t need fleas or any other things to get rid of to do this – we can simply call it a simmer pot and make it for ourselves to fill our homes with nice smells.
And because this is the CREATRIX School, we will see how we can use a simmer pot to help us create and manifest what we wish for.
So what exactly is a simmer pot?
I was lucky enough to live in an area that didn’t have electricity and central heating for a part of my life – so people had wood burning ovens and stoves – which were on all winter and worked for heating and cooking all together.
And I would assume that simmer pots come from a time and place when and where you could just put this on the stove, which was just the top part of the oven, and on all the time anyway – but we can also use this in today’s kitchen or in warmer climates.
All you need is a pot, water and some nice smelling ingredients, such as apples, lemons, oranges, dried flowers, cinnamon, rosemary, or whatever else comes to mind.
