The Practical Archetypes pt. 1
The practical archetypes help us organize our lives in practical and tangible ways.
In our families, communities and in our jobs, we might have to occasionally step into these roles to get things done and to keep us all alive, but of course, we can also make these archetypes our professions. In every society, we need to take care of ourselves and others – and as long as we eat, someone needs to wash the dishes and take out the rubbish.
Yet, today, we have an opportunity to rethink how we do this and how we value this.
Again, it is incredibly important not to judge here, as sometimes we have to serve, or to assist, to learn what we have to learn before we can step into a different role, or simply to do our part to contribute to the whole. One position is not better or worse than any other, if we see that all is necessary to proceed.
What does really harm us, in our lives, is when we try to do or be something, that we’re not (yet), instead of embracing where we are now, so that we can be present to all that is, learn what we have to learn and then move on when we are ready and the time is right. So, who will you be, today?
Pulling one of these cards, invites you to bring in mediator, or communicator, or protector energies to a situation or to your life.
Investigator Archetype
Is there any research that needs to get done for your project? Someone to find out about the legal requirements, or what else is needed to be able to do what you have to do legally?
The investigator will love to go on a hunt and do some research to find out.
An investigator is also good to have on the team when historical data or any other kind of research is necessary.
Communicator Archetype
This is your press speaker or newsletter writer – the person who communicates what you are working on with the outside world.
They might also be the ones writing the project descriptions and applying for grants or talking to sponsors that the networker has put them in touch with.
Protector Archetype
The protector is part of the security team. In the world in general, it could be someone in the police or military, or even in an actual security team.
But it can also be the head of the household, the matriarch or patriarch who makes sure that everyone in the group stays safe (enough).
It could also be a lawyer who protects the project legally.
Rescuer Archetype
In the world in general, this might be a member of a first aid team, someone in an ambulance and so on.
In a project or community, depending on what you are doing, it might also be useful to have a first aid team, and this could be in terms of physical or medical help, but it could also be someone who is ready to aid and assist in any kind of emergency – like a runner who buys something that has been forgotten or somebody who can help resolve any kind of problem that arises.
A rescuer comes in to help others who find themselves in trouble.
Carer Archetype
Now, how about organizing a big event and having someone who makes sure, that everyone is fed, has a bed to sleep in, who fetches drinks and is generally attentive to people’s needs, and who helps them do their jobs well?
It could also be someone who listens to the problems, or who allows others to vent and is there for them emotionally.
It’s a great thing if it’s done out of the goodness of someone’s heart and a conscious decision to support others that way, as long as it is not done to please and appease while waiting for recognition from others.
Medic Archetype
In the general world, this is the surgeon, the medically trained doctor as opposed to the healer, who might just know how to heal others without requiring formal training.
So this might also be a role for a professional here, if it’s relevant to your area of work (for example in a refugee camp – or in low-income communities or so)
Mediator Archetype
When more people come together, it is more likely than not that conflicts arise, so it can help to have someone who is trained to mediate between opposing parties, or fighting people, to help them find solutions that can work for both sides.
A mediator can also work to mediate between one interest group or project and another or the current system.
It’s really awesome that you are here – and surely not a coincidence.
If you like to dive deeper into getting to know your true self, consider ordering your unique Wheel of Colours, so you can remember the colours of your life and start integrating them, to gain more personal freedom, happiness and, if you like, even enlightenment.
Or join the CREATRIX School to continue working with these archetypes.
We work with the practical archetypes in the Community Chapter.
Learn how we can begin to build stronger communities & start creating the world we want to live in
In this chapter of the CREATRIX School (or 4-week course) we learn how we can build strong communities, what our unique roles can be in these strong communities, what our gifts are that we came to share with others and how we can best combine our powers and energies to create the changes we want to see in our world (and not get triggered or distracted by personal issues).
Basically, this course can show you all you need to know to lead groups, clubs, communities, organisations or teams successfully, and wisely, for the highest good of all.
