← CHAPTER OVERVIEW
Why does it get easier when we self-actualize together?
Dear Creatrix,
For a while in my past, I worked with people, who had a double diagnosis: a severe mental health issue (mostly schizophrenia) and addiction problems.
The organization I worked for was great because by placing people in shared housing instead of homes, they were trying everything in their power to give the people some autonomy over their lives.
But it wasn’t enough. The whole time I was there, I felt that what the people really needed was a village, someone to believe in them, someone who could lovingly help them to focus their thoughts, someone who could call them back to remember who they really were. To help them remember their perfect soul, even when the world had never shown them the kindness they needed to love themselves, and even though they grew up in circumstances that made it easier for them to lose themselves than to find themselves.
It so often seems like we are who we are now, because of what we’ve experienced, after we were born, but what we experience and who we are goes beyond this lifetime, as our souls consciously chose our families and the circumstances into which we were born, to be able to have a certain experience in this lifetime.
And if you are on earth right now, as we are going through this huge transformation and shift in consciousness, you chose all your troubles, as well, so you could use what you learned or still have to learn from them for the highest good of all.
You were called here to do important work in times of this important shift, and now you are ready to get the support system in place, so you can move things forward, safely, and joyfully and while feeling the love and guidance of the universe and all those other souls who came with the same intentions.
Our essence, our core, who we are, existed before we came into this body, and before we experienced what we did, and it will continue after we leave this body. Our soul cannot be harmed by the experiences of this world, yet sometimes we distance ourselves so much from our soul, and let the voice of reason or tradition become so loud and domineering, that we forget – unless something happens, that causes us to remember, that wakes us up.
Now the people I worked with didn’t have that chance yet, to understand that they are on a mission too, and when I worked there, I didn’t know that either, though watching them and interacting with them, surely got me thinking.
Everything we do is always a reflection of the whole.
Right now, we outsource our ‘problems’. We incarcerate people, or put them in clinics or in care facilities, instead of integrating them and helping them to heal and resolve the root cause of the problem. This is true on a collective as well, as on an individual level, when we suppress our feelings, or fears, problems, or weaknesses instead of resolving them where they originate. But we can change. Individually and collectively.
To resolve this on an individual level, we do our inner healing work, so we are empowered and strong and wise enough to also tackle this on a collective level.
And to start, it might be useful to connect to and try this out with others who are on the same path. How to do that is precisely what we will look at, today.
Because everything is easier when we know there are other people who are ready to support us.
And before we begin, we remind ourselves who we are. Because we are each perfect in our own way, no matter where we are on our journey. We are each the centre of the universe, the light of the world, a qui_ing, a divine being, god consciousness. All of us are, and all other people are as well.
The only difference is whether we remember and see that or not.
All our problems will be resolved, once we raise our consciousness – in a fast-paced world, where the general understanding is that as long as we can keep up with our bills and a nice facade, we’re fine, it’s easy to forget that, though.
We take pills, drink drinks, eat unhealthy, distract ourselves and do whatever it takes to be able to sooth ourselves and keep up, but we don’t take the time to integrate, hear the song our body is singing, directing us to where it hurts, where we have to look to heal, breath, ground, so that we can fly and be truly free. Though, as you are here, you are already creating something else for yourself.
But, do you really, truly treat yourself as the divine beings that you are — yet? Be honest. Do you have the support and the life you deserve – yet? If not, then let’s get a bit closer to that today.
At the Illuminated Herbalism conference at the Shift Network, I watched an interview with David Crow, and he reminded me of something very important:
We can use herbs and other supplements and practices to help us heal, to help us feel better, to support us in the changes we seek, but eventually, their powers are used up, and we have to do the inner work to get to the core of things and set them right.
And it is important that we do the inner work, to figure ourselves out, understand ourselves better, figure out what we want and don’t want and look at our shadows.
But with this work, too, eventually, we reach a point where we can’t resolve things on our own any more.
Then, we will have to open up to love, to community, to friends and family and heal together, so that when we forget, who we are, we have someone to call us back – and so that future generations will grow up knowing they will always be loved, cared for and reminded of who they are.

In the last lesson, we looked at the Wheel of Colours, and one thing I learned from working with it is that some people think of themselves first, while some think of o…
